Dental Assistant, 10+ Years & Digital Dentistry
Overview
You will own chairside support and clinical documentation for a modern dental practice, serving 20-30 patients daily. You will work alongside one lead dentist and two hygienists, using digital intraoral scanners and CAD/CAM workflows for same-day restorations. This role focuses on advanced procedures like Invisalign and digital crown design, setting it apart from general assisting roles.
What You'll Do10
- 1Welcome patients into the treatment area and set the tone for a calm, informed visit.
- 2Assist the dentist during exams, crown placements, root canals, extractions, and Invisalign adjustments.
- 3Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and equipment, following infection-control protocols.
- 4Take vital signs and record complete medical and dental histories in the EHR.
- 5Explain treatment plans and answer patient questions about procedures and aftercare.
- 6Operate digital intraoral scanners to capture precise impressions for CAD/CAM restorations.
- 7Support digital crown design and milling, ensuring accurate fit and shade match.
- 8Document every visit with clear, structured notes, capturing findings, materials, and post-op instructions.
- 9Schedule appointments, manage recall lists, and assist with front-desk duties as needed.
- 10Maintain a spotless clinical area, restocking supplies and checking equipment daily.
Requirements10
- 110+ years of chairside dental assisting experience, preferably in general or cosmetic dentistry.
- 2Current X-ray certification (Radiography) is mandatory.
- 3Proven skill with crowns, onlays, root canals, and extractions.
- 4Hands-on experience with Invisalign treatment workflows.
- 5Daily use of digital intraoral scanners (e.g., iTero, 3Shape) is required.
- 6Experience with digital crown design software or CAD/CAM mills is strongly preferred.
- 7PRP or PRF certification is a plus, not required.
- 8Excellent written communication, with a track record of precise clinical notes.
- 9Strong computer literacy for EHRs and practice management software.
- 10A calm, organized demeanor that thrives in a fast clinical environment.
