Dental Assistant, Chicago South Loop
Overview
You own chairside support for a full spectrum of dental procedures at our South Loop practice, serving 20-30 patients daily. You work one-on-one with Dentologie providers using 4-handed dentistry to keep procedures smooth. Our team includes general dentists, orthodontists, and pediatric specialists, with a supportive front office. What You'll Do9
- 1Prepare rooms and instruments for each procedure, ensuring sterilization and disinfection protocols are followed
- 2Assist chairside during restorative, ortho, pediatric, endo, and oral surgery procedures
- 3Pass instruments using 4-handed dentistry techniques to reduce procedure time
- 4Obtain high-quality dental radiographs and intra-oral scans for accurate diagnosis
- 5Document treatment plans and chart existing restorations in Dentrix
- 6Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care, including oral hygiene instructions
- 7Manage daily supply inventory and restock operatories to maintain workflow
- 8Monitor patient comfort and anxiety levels throughout treatment
- 9Collaborate with the dental team to coordinate patient flow and prioritize tasks
Requirements6
- 16+ months of dental assistant experience in a clinical setting
- 2Radiography certification and proficiency in taking digital X-rays
- 3Knowledge of 4-handed dentistry and aseptic techniques
- 4Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 5Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks in a fast-paced environment
- 6Comfortable working Monday-Friday with a mix of morning and evening shifts
