Overview

CoreSite seeks a Tier III technician to ensure operational integrity security and regulatory compliance across telecommunications mechanical electrical and life safety domains. The role involves managing data center operations and supporting multi-disciplinary teams.

What You'll Do21

  • 1Operate and monitor facilities systems including Electrical Mechanical Communications and Building Monitoring
  • 2Complete CoreSite’s Data Center Operations Qualification Program to the appropriate tier level within nine months
  • 3Track and trend operational characteristics while providing feedback on standards and processes
  • 4Collaborate with contractors for system expansions and upgrades
  • 5Work with senior technicians to maintain a preventive and predictive maintenance schedule
  • 6Ensure maximum operational efficiency through analysis and recommendations aligned with CoreSite guidelines
  • 7Manage systems to prevent unplanned outages and navigate CMMS platforms
  • 8Provide exceptional customer service and support
  • 9Maintain facility and security tours documenting issues
  • 10Assist with database management of maintenance discrepancies
  • 11Follow data center management directives for mechanical loading capacity and cooling efficiency
  • 12Trouble ticket and remote hands management for fiber and copper cabling
  • 13Coordinate power installations and upgrades
  • 14Oversee infrastructure projects and cage/cabinet build-outs
  • 15Perform rack and stack organization and asset inventory management
  • 16Handle incident escalation, response, and reporting
  • 17Resolve work orders promptly and serve in technical writing roles
  • 18Adhere to CoreSite’s principles of operational excellence and promote safety standards
  • 19Diagnose and repair IT hardware and network infrastructure
  • 20Lead teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • 21Learn quickly and address issues during normal or after-hours shifts

Requirements16

  • 1Minimum 2 years experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems
  • 2Proven knowledge of fiber optics cabling infrastructure and industry best practices
  • 3Understanding of NEC NFPA 70E NFPA 72 NFPA 25 and building codes for fire life safety
  • 4Familiarity with industrial safety practices including lockout/tag out and arc flash protection
  • 5Experience with data trending and analysis using PC-based monitoring systems
  • 6Skills in Chilled Water Systems Centrifugal Chillers Cooling Towers Heat Exchangers
  • 7Expertise in VFD’s and Pumps HVAC equipment CRAC/CRAH’s and humidification systems
  • 8Background in BMS and PLC Controls and emergency standby diesel generator systems
  • 9Knowledge of fuel/oil systems and electrical generation/distribution
  • 10Experience with static UPS systems and double interlock pre-action systems
  • 11Proficiency in communications cabling and network infrastructure
  • 12Ability to diagnose and repair IT hardware and network switches
  • 13Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • 14High school diploma or higher
  • 152-5 years of experience in the data center industry
  • 16Pass background check, references, and drug screening
