Controls Engineer, PLC & AMR Integration
Overview
You will design, develop, and support industrial material handling and AMR solutions at HOJ Innovations, a leader in warehouse automation. Working hands-on with hardware and software, you will own PLC and HMI programs, integrate AMRs with MES/WMS systems, and commission on-site installations. Collaborating with engineers and technicians, you will resolve complex site issues and support installed systems. What You'll Do10
- 1Design, develop, and test PLC and HMI programs for material handling systems.
- 2Integrate AMRs into automation systems, coordinating communication, task execution, and system coordination.
- 3Develop system-level integrations between PLCs, AMRs, HMIs, WMS/MES systems, and external software.
- 4Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues including PLC logic, motion control, SCADA, and AC/DC drives.
- 5Debug electrical installations and controls hardware, working with panels, devices, and field wiring.
- 6Perform on-site commissioning for system designs, including AMR deployments.
- 7Support installed systems through scheduled maintenance and emergency service.
- 8Prepare control schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication.
- 9Coordinate with electricians and installers to support electrical installation.
- 10Document system designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 23+ years of relevant experience in controls engineering.
- 3Strong programming skills in PLC and HMI development.
- 4Experience with Beckhoff IPCs and TwinCAT a plus.
- 5Experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation a plus.
- 6Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (TCP/IP, REST APIs, fieldbus).
- 7Exposure to AMRs, robotics, or mobile automation preferred.
- 8Functional Mandarin speaking/reading a plus.
- 9Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
