Own the design and implementation of industrial control systems from concept through startup at a Dallas area site. Lead hardware selection, panel design, and BOM development while coordinating with sales, customers, and internal teams. Drive functional design specifications, PLC/HMI programming, FAT/SAT testing, and on site commissioning. This role emphasizes hands on wiring, software integration, and strong documentation.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build control system solutions with customers and sales teams and prepare technical proposals
  • 2Design control panels and electrical power systems using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
  • 3Develop BOMs, select hardware components, and obtain fabrication quotes
  • 4Create Functional Design Specifications (FDS) outlining system functionality and requirements
  • 5Program PLCs and develop HMI applications based on project specs
  • 6Test and verify hardware and software functionality prior to shipment
  • 7Prepare and execute FAT and SAT, document results, and resolve issues
  • 8Support system checkout, commissioning, and startup activities at customer sites
  • 9Develop project schedules and manage milestones for design software and hardware
  • 10Participate in technical meetings to clarify requirements and ensure project success

Requirements10

  • 1Experience designing industrial control systems from concept through commissioning startup
  • 2Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical for schematics, panel layouts, and system design
  • 3Controls design experience including hardware selection, panel design, and BOM development
  • 4Experience developing Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
  • 5PLC programming experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley/RSLogix 5000
  • 6HMI development experience, preferably with FactoryTalk View
  • 7Knowledge of electrical design principles, codes, and standards
  • 8Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 9Willingness to travel to customer sites for startup and commissioning support
  • 10Degree or experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field
