Controller, Small Business & Financial Reporting
Overview
Own the accounting function for a growing Atlanta small business, overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, and strategic planning. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will build out the finance department from a bookkeeping-heavy setup, implement scalable processes, and deliver insight that drives growth. Collaborate with leadership on cash flow forecasting, deal analysis, and contract reviews, while partnering with external accountants and auditors. What You'll Do7
- 1Own the month-end close process and deliver GAAP-compliant financial statements
- 2Build variance analysis reporting that surfaces actionable insights for leadership
- 3Drive strategic planning and cash flow forecasting to support growth decisions
- 4Evaluate tenant credit and deal structures for new contracts and partnerships
- 5Lead contract reviews and assess financing options to optimize capital structure
- 6Transition the current QuickBooks setup into a scalable financial system
- 7Partner with external accountants, auditors, and bankers to ensure compliance and alignment
Requirements5
- 16+ years of accounting or finance experience in a small to midsize business
- 2Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3Deep experience with QuickBooks and migrating to modern financial platforms
- 4Proven record of building reporting and planning functions from the ground up
- 5Strong communication skills for direct interaction with owners and investors
