Controller (QuickBooks & GAAP), Multi-Company Finance
Overview
Own the full Finance and Accounting function for Injured Gadgets, a multi-company retail operation in Atlanta. You will lead a team, manage daily transactions in QuickBooks, and deliver monthly reporting to the COO. This role directly supports a foreign subsidiary, requiring intercompany and consolidated financial oversight. You will implement controls and process improvements across multiple entities.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead the Finance Department, recording transactions in QuickBooks and reviewing daily sales, purchases, EFTs, and wire transfers.
- 2Oversee AP, AR, and disbursements, ensuring supporting documentation for all expenditures.
- 3Prepare monthly journal entries, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
- 4Build a monthly reporting package with consolidated and comparative financial statements and analysis.
- 5Direct accounting for multiple related companies, including intercompany inventory, shared costs, and foreign subsidiary oversight.
- 6Train and develop the accounting team, conducting performance reviews and setting accountability standards.
- 7Design and update financial policies, internal controls, and GAAP-compliant procedures.
- 8Coordinate tax filings, business license renewals, personal property tax, and the annual external CPA review.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and financial experience.
- 2Hands-on expertise with QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills.
- 3Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial reporting.
- 5Proven track record of preparing accurate monthly financial statements and management reports.
- 6Ability to manage multiple companies, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- 7Experience with a multi-company or multinational organization, including foreign subsidiary oversight.
- 8CPA or CMA designation preferred.
