Overview
We seek a Controller to lead financial operations at Haddad Plumbing & Heating Inc. in Newark NJ. The role involves overseeing accounting finance and leading the Finance team while collaborating with the CFO. This position emphasizes leadership mathematical aptitude and communication skills.
What You'll Do22
- 1Oversee all accounting departments including Finance Manager Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and Payroll
- 2Ensure accurate revenue recognition and percentage of completion of accounting
- 3Manage month end and year end close out processes for bank accounts credit cards Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- 4Analyze financial results and provide management reports on profitability margins and cost controls
- 5Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts and manage working capital
- 6Review all AIA billing before sending to customers to ensure proper labor and material allocation
- 7Supervise and train accounting staff Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and Finance Manager
- 8Maintain internal controls and processes for the Finance Department
- 9Work with vendors to ensure timely payments and avoid account holds
- 10Monitor incoming receivables to allocate funds for job materials
- 11Prepare financial analyses and reports for executive management
- 12Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes and track actual results versus budget
- 13Provide pricing support for labor rate analysis and overhead allocation
- 14Meet with project managers to evaluate progress and meet with management on budget reports
- 15Ensure compliance with tax requirements and coordinate with outside accounting firms
- 16Maintain Sage 100 Contractor system and improve financial processes
- 17Oversee payroll processing and analyze labor reports for management presentations
- 18Monitor cash flow and provide weekly monthly quarterly and annual cash flow reports
- 19Coordinate with lenders and financial institutions as needed
- 20Supervise and train accounting staff and serve as financial partner for ownership
- 21Improve financial processes and develop standard operating procedures for the Finance Department
- 22Manage support system integrations between accounting field operations and billing
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- 27+ years of experience in construction industry related roles
- 3Strong understanding of job costing and project based accounting
- 4Proficiency with Sage 100 Contractor
- 5Experience with Microsoft Office and accounting software
- 6Ability to lead teams and provide financial guidance
