Overview
You will own the strategic planning and execution of large-scale industrial construction projects for food and beverage production facilities, overseeing budgets up to $100M and teams of 20+ site managers. You will direct and mentor onsite construction managers while driving schedule adherence and quality outcomes. With 15+ years of field experience, you will act as the primary client liaison, ensuring transparent communication and trusted guidance. This role demands up to 100% travel and a 10-on/4-off schedule, with full per diem and lodging provided.
What You'll Do10
- 1Manage client relationships by listening to needs, addressing feedback honestly, and adapting to changing expectations with a professional approach.
- 2Review project schedules, work progress, and budgets with clients, setting clear timelines and deliverables.
- 3Direct and supervise site-based construction managers and field administrators from conception to completion, including mentoring and performance evaluation.
- 4Provide field input to office project managers on accounting, budgeting, and cost management to keep projects financially on track.
- 5Develop and update project scope, budget, and schedule in collaboration with the office project manager.
- 6Build relationships with inspectors to ensure adherence to permit requirements and manage third-party testing and inspections.
- 7Conduct jobsite walk-throughs and audits to monitor progress and drive efficiency.
- 8Support facility start-up and coordinate with project controllers on supplier invoices and client billing.
- 9Develop construction reports tailored for client executives, highlighting progress and key metrics.
- 10Promote continuous communication among internal and external project participants to resolve issues and keep momentum.
Requirements10
- 115+ years of progressively responsible jobsite experience on industrial building projects, strongly preferred in the Food & Beverage Industry.
- 215+ years of experience working with subcontractors, including motivating them and resolving issues.
- 315+ years of building and sustaining client relationships with a demonstrated ability to drive project schedules.
- 47+ years of Design-build experience (preferred).
- 5Bachelor's degree in construction science, building science, construction engineering, or related field (strongly preferred).
- 6Strong technical, organizational, and managerial skills across multiple disciplines, with proficiency reading drawings and using 3D models.
- 7Fundamental understanding of all construction phases and ability to interpret construction documents and schedules, specifically with MS Project.
- 8Willingness to travel up to 100% to project sites across the USA and Canada.
- 9Ability to work a 10-day onsite, 4-day off schedule.
- 10Physical capability to walk, climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds in varied weather conditions.
