Construction Manager, Municipal Infrastructure Projects
Overview
You will own the construction phase of District projects, managing and inspecting the installation of parks, facilities, and public works infrastructure for 18,000+ residents. Reporting to the District Engineer, you will coordinate schedules, scope, and costs with contractors to ensure build quality matches plans, specs, and contract documents. What You'll Do9
- 1Manage daily construction activities, sequencing, and coordination across 5-10 active projects.
- 2Conduct field inspections to verify compliance with Plans, Specifications, and TCEQ regulations.
- 3Process contractor submittals, review monthly pay applications, and negotiate change orders for board approval.
- 4Review construction documents for constructability, recommending revisions to cut costs and shorten timelines.
- 5Track contractor progress against schedules and budgets, reporting bottlenecks to the District Engineer.
- 6Ensure all projects follow issued permits and local, state, and federal rules like OSHA.
- 7Maintain current knowledge of construction methods and materials, updating District standards.
- 8Uphold strict personal safety practices on site, modeling OSHA compliance.
- 9Coordinate with parks, utilities, and facility teams to minimize community disruption.
Requirements8
- 15+ years in construction management, inspection, or project management.
- 2Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
- 3Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within a reasonable time.
- 4Proficient reading engineering drawings, site plans, and utility layouts.
- 5Preferred 10+ years in municipal construction management and inspection.
- 6Skilled in developing construction reports and organizing task completion.
- 7Adherence to workplace health, safety, and security procedures.
