Construction Laborer, Underground Utilities & Site Development
Overview
You will own site preparation and utility installation on commercial projects across the South Shore. You will operate hand tools, support excavation, and coordinate with crews to hit daily grading targets. You will join a family-owned contractor with a contract-to-hire path, weekly pay, and benefits. This role offers $25–35/hour and overtime opportunities.
What You'll Do7
- 1Perform site preparation and grading to spec, using levels and hand tools.
- 2Install underground utilities: sewer, water, and drainage systems.
- 3Dig, trench, and backfill, supporting excavation with shoring and compaction.
- 4Coordinate with excavator operators to maintain daily production targets.
- 5Enforce site safety standards, including trench protection and PPE use.
- 6Keep the job site clean and organized to prevent hazards.
- 7Complete general labor tasks as directed by the foreman.
Requirements6
- 11+ years as a site laborer in heavy civil or construction.
- 2Hands-on experience with underground utilities (sewer, water, drainage).
- 3Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
- 4Working knowledge of construction site safety practices.
- 5Reliable transportation to job sites across the South Shore.
- 6Basic math skills for measuring and layout.
