Underground Utilities Pipelayer, Heavy Civil Sewer Storm Water
Overview
You own the underground pipe installation for heavy civil projects in the Greater Seattle Area, from sewer and storm to water mainline utilities. You work with a tight crew that treats every site like a team sport, backed by a family-run company that has grown since 1996. You set grades with pipe lasers and keep production moving, with full support for safety and advancement.
What You'll Do8
- 1Install sewer, storm, and water mainline utilities on heavy civil job sites from day one.
- 2Set pipe lasers and verify grades, slopes, and compaction to spec on every trench.
- 3Coordinate with crew operators to keep excavation and pipe laying in sync for daily production goals.
- 4Inspect trench safety and shoring systems before entry, following OSHA and industry standards.
- 5Measure and calculate pipe slope percentages on site using your own numbers for each run.
- 6Maintain tools and equipment, from laser transits to compaction gear, in ready condition.
- 7Read blueprints and grade stakes to confirm alignment and depth for each utility line.
- 8Work at multiple project sites across Seattle and surrounding areas as assigned.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of experience in heavy civil underground utilities, specifically sewer, storm, and water mainline.
- 2Proven knowledge of grades, slopes, compaction, and drainage for utility installation.
- 3Hands-on ability with pipe lasers and other underground utility tools.
- 4Comfortable calculating your own pipe slope percentages on the job.
- 5Strong awareness of trench safety and OSHA requirements for excavation.
- 6Team-oriented and self-motivated, focused on crew output and safety.
- 7Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- 8Willing to travel to multiple work sites within the Greater Seattle Area.
Salary Insight
