Overview

Own Velo3D's compliance portfolio for metal additive manufacturing systems, spanning AS9100, AS13100, and NCAMP accreditations. This role sits with Quality but reports through Legal, ensuring independent audit evidence and attestations. Drive certification programs, maintain the evidentiary record, and hold the schedule across two facilities. This is a hands-on program-owner position, not oversight, and reports to the Chief Legal Officer.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Lead NCAMP, NIAR, JAQS, and America Makes participation, including documentation, audits, and KPI management.
  • 2Own compliance with AS13100: conduct self-assessments, map clauses, deliver training, and update documents.
  • 3Drive ASTM additive manufacturing certification with SEI and other certifying bodies.
  • 4Support the AS9100 certification cycle: manage audit evidence, nonconformance responses, and OASIS records.
  • 5Maintain GIDEP membership and annual reporting for counterfeit parts prevention.
  • 6Review customer quality requirements, supplier manuals, and clauses; maintain a requirements register.
  • 7Issue and collect supplier export compliance acknowledgements per compliance manager guidelines.
  • 8Draft and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and work instructions; own version control.
  • 9Deliver training on certification and compliance obligations to engineering, operations, and supply chain.
  • 10Extend accreditation to the Livermore facility, including scope filings and audit readiness.

Requirements10

  • 15+ years in quality assurance, quality engineering, or product compliance in aerospace or defense.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3Working knowledge of AS9100, including hosting registrar audits and managing nonconformance responses.
  • 4Proven experience preparing for and hosting customer and third-party audits.
  • 5Experience owning compliance documentation, records, and corrective action systems.
  • 6Ability to work credibly with engineering and operations while reporting outside that organization.
  • 7Willingness to travel between Fremont and Livermore as required.
  • 8NCAMP, NIAR, or America Makes direct experience preferred.
  • 9AS13100 or equivalent customer-mandated aerospace quality standards experience preferred.
  • 10Experience with ASTM certification programs or additive manufacturing standards preferred.
