
Commissioning Engineer System One
Overview
The Commissioning Engineer team performs final testing startup and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment including breakers transformers switches switchgear relays motor control centers and other electrical apparatus both in the field and in a manufacturing environment. You will contribute to a safe working environment for co-workers and customers and help ensure the overall success of projects. Local regional and national travel may be required.
What You'll Do18
- 1Perform final testing startup and commissioning of electrical distribution equipment such as breakers transformers switches switchgear relays MCCs and UPS power monitoring systems
- 2Execute testing analysis and troubleshooting to validate equipment system performance and fail-safe operation
- 3Support commissioning documentation and deliverables including simple electrical sketches commissioning plans and data sheets
- 4Perform routine electrical calculations and assist with review of supplier documentation for spec compliance
- 5Follow engineering standards guidelines and applicable codes
- 6Produce clear technical documentation and reports
- 7Communicate effectively with field teams and internal project stakeholders to support safe successful execution
- 8Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related discipline
- 91+ year of relevant experience in commissioning electrical testing power systems manufacturing test or field start-up
- 10Familiarity with power systems equipment like switchgear transformers breakers protective relays panels UPS and test equipment
- 11Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- 12Working knowledge of industry codes standards and basic electrical engineering theory
- 13Willingness to travel to customer project sites as needed
- 14Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
- 15Ability to sit for extended periods and perform frequent hand finger dexterity tasks using keyboard mouse
- 16Ability to communicate clearly verbally and written and interpret technical information
- 17Preferred background experience supporting data center industrial utility or electrical manufacturing environments
- 18Combination of field commissioning exposure and office based engineering documentation work

- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons of experience
- 35+ years constructing ETL pipelines using Spark and Airflow
- 4AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- 5CPC Card certification
- 6BCBA certification
- 7AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
- 85+ years experience with power systems equipment including switchgear transformers breakers protective relays panels UPS and test equipment
- 9Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 10Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast paced environment
- 11Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- 12Experience with version control systems such as Git
- 13Familiarity with automation scripting languages
- 14Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness
- 15Valid driver’s license for travel requirements
- 16Valid passport for international assignments if applicable
Salary Insight
$85 - $125k per year
