CNC Programmer, Mastercam & Siemens NX
Overview
You will own CNC programming for complex components at Curtiss-Wright in Pittsburgh. You will work with design engineering to release new products and conduct manufacturability reviews. You will develop machining processes, select tooling, and manage NC program files for revision control. Your work directly reduces production unit cost and increases productivity. You will also train and mentor operator programmers, ensuring quality and security standards.
What You'll Do9
- 1Interface with design engineering to coordinate release of new products and conduct reducibility review of engineering drawings before release.
- 2Perform operational and methods analyses related to labor standards, and review product/project flow data to recommend improvements.
- 3Act as technical liaison with program management, finance, design, quality, procurement, inspection, and production teams.
- 4Provide feedback for DFM changes into product design during initial designs and redesign efforts.
- 5Develop machining processes, including tool selection for components and sub-assemblies.
- 6Manage NC program files for revision control and security per EMD procedures.
- 7Collaborate with equipment acquisition team on new NC machine tools.
- 8Train and mentor Operator Programmers on machining best practices.
- 9Select tooling using vendor catalogs and create tooling libraries in CAM.
Requirements9
- 15+ years in a manufacturing environment with primary experience in machining, welding/fabrication, assembly, electrical, or plastics.
- 25+ years using Mastercam for NC program generation.
- 3Siemens NX CAD for NC programming is a plus.
- 4Blueprint reading with GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
- 5Experience with commercial nuclear or military quality systems.
- 6Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- 73D solid modeling is a plus.
- 8Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
- 9Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances.
