What You'll Do10
- 1Program CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam to produce precision steel components.
- 2Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality.
- 3Set up and machine steel parts, including stainless and alloy steels, to meet engineering specifications.
- 4Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T to ensure accurate part production.
- 5Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for efficient and safe machining operations.
- 6Troubleshoot machining and programming issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- 7Collaborate with production and engineering teams to refine processes and improve manufacturability.
- 8Verify first-piece parts and make necessary program or setup adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- 9Maintain organized program files and documentation for repeat jobs and continuous improvement.
- 10Follow established safety procedures and best practices while operating CNC equipment.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2Strong proficiency in programming CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam.
- 3Hands-on experience machining and programming steel, including stainless and alloy steels.
- 4Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T.
- 5Solid understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling selection, feeds, and speeds.
- 6Proven ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the shop floor.
- 7Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate components.
- 8Experience in a high-mix, precision manufacturing environment.
- 9Familiarity with continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
