CNC Grinding Operator, Medical Device Manufacturing
Overview
Operate CNC centerless, surface, and wire grinding machines to produce close-tolerance parts for medical devices at Tegra Medical, a trusted contract manufacturer. You'll work in a clean room environment, using vision systems and measuring tools to inspect parts, and you'll collaborate with a team known for tackling complex projects. What You'll Do9
- 1Operate CNC centerless, surface, and wire grinding machines to achieve specifications for quality and throughput.
- 2Set up and run first-piece and in-process inspections using microscopes, optical comparators, and micrometers.
- 3Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and ensure proper lubrication and coolant flow.
- 4Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools, and keep the work area clean and safe.
- 5Record measurements and data in the ERP system for every part produced.
- 6Collaborate with team members and other shifts to transfer instructions and resolve issues.
- 7Machine materials such as stainless steel, composites, and plastics to meet print specifications.
- 8Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance processes and reduce waste.
- 9Perform secondary operations like cleaning parts and assisting colleagues as needed.
Requirements8
- 11-3 years of experience as a CNC Grinding Operator in a medical device or precision manufacturing environment.
- 2Experience operating CNC centerless or surface grinders preferred.
- 3High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machining is a plus.
- 4Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
- 5Good manual dexterity and experience with measuring tools such as calipers and dial indicators.
- 6Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- 7Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- 8Willingness to work 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:15 PM) and follow safety protocols.
Salary Insight
