Clinical Research & Development Director
Overview
Lead globally recognized thought leader driving integrated clinical research and development strategy to ensure value creation and regulatory market success through innovative cross-functional leadership. Operate independently at scale influencing operational excellence and strategic direction at highest organizational levels.
What You'll Do11
- 1Develop and align Clinical Research & Development strategies supporting AstraZeneca’s global goals and product vision
- 2Lead execution of clinical research & development studies ensuring scientific rigor commercial viability and patient-centric focus throughout drug lifecycle
- 3Collaborate with Line Managers to identify resource needs and secure flexible teams for dynamic project requirements
- 4Provide strategic input implementing best practices new technologies and global clinical strategies
- 5Manage resource planning budgeting timelines contingency and risk ensuring operational excellence
- 6Negotiate and manage contracts with CROs and external service providers
- 7Oversee regulatory submission materials and participate in defense approval processes
- 8Create culture of courageous leadership creativity and collaboration mentoring line management and project teams
- 9Ensure compliance with internal external standards including Safety Health Environment and regulatory guidelines
- 10Drive integration of new technologies within clinical research and development
- 11Travel nationally and internationally as required
Requirements11
- 1Advanced degree Master’s PhD or equivalent in scientific medical or health-related discipline
- 2Extensive experience in clinical research and clinical development within pharmaceutical biotechnology industry
- 3Familiarity with scientific and clinical communities
- 4Proven leadership managing cross-functional senior project teams
- 5Success in strategy development execution in clinical research and development environments
- 6Strong knowledge of drug development process GCP ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements
- 7Significant operational experience planning delivery and oversight of clinical trials and regulatory submissions
- 8Budgetary resource and risk management expertise on global or regional scale
- 9Exceptional written verbal communication skills presenting to diverse stakeholders
- 10Ability to mentor develop and lead teams
- 11Commitment to compliance safety health environmental standards
