Seneca seeks a Classroom Counselor to support 5-12th graders at James Baldwin Academy in San Leandro. The role involves providing emotional and behavioral support while collaborating with caregivers teachers and leadership. What You'll Do9
- 1Collaborate with teachers therapists and specialists to deliver integrated support
- 2Build therapeutic relationships that help students engage and achieve personalized goals
- 3Support academic instruction by assisting with individual and group activities as directed
- 4Implement classroom modifications and accommodations based on individualized education plans
- 5Deliver direct behavioral intervention that reduces disruptive behaviors and promotes positive outcomes
- 6Communicate effectively with families and stakeholders about student progress
- 7Complete required data collection and service documentation to measure effectiveness
- 8Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques per Seneca crisis response training
- 9Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor's degree or associate degree with one year experience or high school diploma with two years experience
- 2At least twenty-one years of age
- 3Reliable transportation to and from school site and occasional meetings
- 4TB test clearance fingerprinting clearance and relevant state/federal licensing
- 5Ability to work full-time Monday to Friday eight thirty AM to five PM
