Overview
The Classroom Aide supports instructional personnel and oversees student activities at Harriet Tubman Village Charter School. This part-time role offers up to 35 hours per week and includes duties such as assisting teachers and managing student safety.
What You'll Do11
- 1Assist instructional personnel with learning material presentation and instructional exercises
- 2Tutor individual and small groups of students with special learning needs
- 3Monitor and assist students with special needs during instructional activities
- 4Confer with teachers to develop educational goals and support special education programs
- 5Use positive reinforcement to promote appropriate behavior and diversity appreciation
- 6Prepare instructional materials and collaborate on curriculum modifications
- 7Direct students during classroom activities recess and field trips
- 8Escort students to events and maintain supervision as required
- 9Provide teachers with student progress feedback and maintain records
- 10Maintain an orderly and positive learning environment
- 11Operate instructional aids and assist with computer-based learning equipment
Requirements11
- 1Basic concepts of child growth and developmental behavior characteristics
- 2Understanding of organizational operations and school objectives
- 3Ability to understand and meet diverse student needs including learning disabilities
- 4Demonstrated experience with classroom management and behavior guidance
- 5Proficiency with educational software and office equipment
- 6Valid California driver's license and first-aid certificate
- 7CPR certification preferred
- 8TB test clearance preferred
- 91 year childhood development experience preferred
- 10Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 11Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Salary Insight
$42 - $48k per year
