Teacher Aide MISSION
Overview
Marion P. Thomas Charter School seeks a dedicated Teacher Aide to support instructional programs and assist students with special needs in a high school setting. This role involves supervising students, administering tasks, and ensuring a safe learning environment while collaborating with staff and healthcare professionals.
What You'll Do11
- 1Supervise students with special needs in general education or self-contained classrooms
- 2Assist in implementing lesson plans to reinforce classroom objectives
- 3Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe learning environment
- 4Administer tests and provide homework assistance
- 5Support IEP goals through tailored activities and interventions
- 6Escorting students between locations safely and efficiently
- 7Implement research-based interventions for learning reinforcement
- 8Intervene in conflicts using therapeutic approaches
- 9Maintain instructional materials and records
- 10Prepare learning environments for student participation
- 11Conduct emergency drills and ensure student safety
Requirements8
- 1High School diploma or equivalent
- 2PRAXIS certification or 60 college credits
- 3Bachelor's degree
- 4Valid New Jersey driver's license
- 5Prior experience with special needs children
- 6Ability to report student safety concerns
- 7Understanding of IEP implementation
- 8Physical ability to lift and transport students
Salary Insight
$24 - $35k per year
