Charge Nurse RN, Behavioral Health Night Shift
Overview
Lead and coordinate medical, psychiatric, and nursing care for individuals in a behavioral health setting at night at the Peoria Recovery Response Center. Manage unit staff and ensure compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. Drive patient safety, documentation, and cross functional collaboration with pharmacy and laboratory services. What You'll Do10
- 1Lead nursing services for the shift including patient assignments and safety in the facility
- 2Administer medication as required by protocol and respond to medical emergencies
- 3Supervise clinical staff such as RNs, Behavioral Health Technicians, Peer Support Specialists and Milieu Specialists
- 4Maintain and monitor medical supplies and equipment and ensure safety of equipment
- 5Complete clinical documentation and ensure compliance with regulations and policies
- 6Coordinate treatment plans and referrals with the care team and outside medical services
- 7Oversee designated assessments and develop recovery plans in collaboration with individuals
- 8Advance safety and risk management across the unit
- 9Support de escalation training and patient advocacy during care
- 10Collaborate with pharmacy and laboratory services to support patient care
Requirements10
- 1Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
- 2Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- 3Valid and current state license (Compact licensure preferred)
- 4Minimum of one year of experience in a behavioral health setting
- 5Basic computer skills and ability to document effectively
- 6Ability to pass de escalation training and background checks
- 7Must be able to pass substance abuse and TB testing if applicable
- 8Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform multiple duties in a clinical setting
- 9Able to work back end night shift and travel may be required
- 10Must be at least 18 years old
