Registered Nurse, Behavioral Health Crisis
Overview
RNs at MIND 24-7 own crisis stabilization for children, adolescents, and adults in a secure, on-site facility. No mobile response - care happens where patients arrive. You'll join a multidisciplinary team delivering immediate psychiatric intervention and therapeutic de-escalation. This role offers night-shift pay differentials and a path in a growing behavioral health organization.
What You'll Do10
- 1Complete physical and mental health assessments for patients in acute psychiatric distress, documenting findings in the EMR.
- 2Administer medications per facility protocol, ensuring accurate documentation and patient safety.
- 3Monitor and report behavioral and medical changes, adjusting care plans with the clinical team.
- 4Participate in treatment planning meetings, contributing nursing insights to multidisciplinary decisions.
- 5Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and medication regimens.
- 6De-escalate potentially volatile situations using verbal techniques and therapeutic interventions.
- 7Apply SafeClinch techniques and follow seclusion and restraint standards, maintaining compliance documentation.
- 8Perform lab draws and wound care as ordered, coordinating with lab and pharmacy services.
- 9Float across clinical services within the market as needed, adapting to patient volumes and acuity.
- 10Attend supervision sessions and complete all assigned trainings to maintain certifications.
Requirements6
- 1Active, unrestricted RN license from the Arizona Board of Nursing.
- 21+ years in psychiatric, behavioral health, or crisis care settings.
- 3Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain upon hire.
- 4Experience with pediatric and adolescent behavioral health populations.
- 5Proficiency with EMR systems and psychiatric documentation standards.
- 6Comfortable in a crisis environment managing diverse patient needs independently.
