Certified Patient Care Assistant PCU Banner Health
Overview
Own patient comfort and assist with basic nursing tasks in a high acuity Progressive Care Unit across multiple floors including cardiac, neuro, and general medical PCU. Work with a collaborative care team in a Level I Trauma Center environment to monitor vital signs, support daily living activities, and document patient data. This role offers day shifts, weekend and holiday rotations, and sign-on bonus for new CNAs.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain patient records with accurate data and progress notes
- 2Collect vital signs and input/output data and communicate changes to the care team
- 3Assist with activities of daily living and mobility to promote comfort and recovery
- 4Perform procedures such as blood draws, Foley catheter removal, EKGs under supervision
- 5Provide unit support functions including receptionist duties and supply management
- 6Support patient transportation, room turnover, and coordination with nursing staff
- 7Monitor patient status and report abnormalities to licensed professionals
- 8Transcribe and process physician orders in the electronic medical record
- 9Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure equipment is functioning
- 10Contribute to an environment of learning and collaboration across nursing, physicians, and therapies
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 2Current BLS certification
- 3Current CNA license in the state of practice
- 41 year of medical clerical experience preferred
- 5Excellent organizational and communication skills
- 6Knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy
- 7Ability to work in a fast paced, high acuity environment
- 8Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if working in Behavioral Health settings
- 9Weekend and holiday rotation availability
- 10Sign-on bonus eligibility with 12 month commitment
