Overview
As a Cashier at Cosentino's Price Chopper, you will own the front-end checkout experience, processing transactions for hundreds of customers each shift. What You'll Do10
- 1Process customer transactions using POS systems and cash registers with speed and accuracy.
- 2Handle cash, make change, and balance the cash drawer at shift end.
- 3Receive payments via cash, check, gift cards, credit/debit, coupons, and government assistance programs like SNAP and WIC.
- 4Issue receipts and change, and bag merchandise with care.
- 5Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues with Red-Carpet Service standards.
- 6Maintain a clean checkout area, following food safety and sanitation practices.
- 7Identify products by PLU codes, scale, or product number.
- 8Promote sales by suggesting additional products or services.
- 9Stock shelves and ensure merchandise is presentable.
- 10Train new cashiers as directed, and complete ongoing Cosentino's Learning Plan modules.
Requirements10
- 1High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 21+ years of customer service experience.
- 31+ years of cash handling experience.
- 41+ years of cashier experience.
- 51+ years of retail experience.
- 6General knowledge of cash handling procedures and cash register operation.
- 7Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- 8Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively.
- 9Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
- 10Must obtain a liquor license and/or food handlers permit within 14 days of start.
