Cashier, Grocery & Customer Service in Kansas City
Overview
You will own the front-end checkout experience for every shopper at Cosentino's North Price Chopper. This role processes cash register transactions and drives customer satisfaction. You join a tight-knit Front-End Team reporting to the Front-End Manager. You'll master SNAP and WIC payment procedures, keeping operations accurate and compliant. What sets this apart: you'll train new cashiers and gain leadership exposure early.
What You'll Do10
- 1Obtain county liquor license or food handlers permit within the first 14 days
- 2Process transactions with cash register and POS system
- 3Handle cash, count money, make change, and balance drawer each shift
- 4Accept payments from cash, check, gift cards, credit/debit, coupons, SNAP, and WIC
- 5Issue receipts and change accurately
- 6Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues with Red-Carpet Service
- 7Identify products by PLU, scale, or product number
- 8Bag merchandise carefully, promote sales, and stock shelves as needed
- 9Keep checkout area clean, practicing food safety and sanitation
- 10Train new cashiers if directed by manager
Requirements10
- 1High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2General knowledge of cash handling procedures
- 3Working knowledge of cash register operation
- 4Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
- 5General mathematics skills
- 6Ability to communicate effectively
