Case Manager Homes, Child Welfare & Family Support in Atlanta
Overview
The case manager will own the foster family and child advocacy role within the Greater Atlanta region, partnering with state agencies to support placement success at scale. You will work with a multidisciplinary team and churches to provide 24/7 availability during emergencies. This role focuses on building strong family supports, documentation, and in-home visits to ensure effective permanency outcomes. What You'll Do10
- 1Build strong liaisons with the Division of Family and Children Services, Juvenile Court, Guardian Ad Litem, CASA, schools, therapists, and other contacts to advocate for foster families and children
- 2Provide resources and supports to enable successful placements and be available for unexpected events or emergencies
- 3Visit each child at least twice per month in the Northeast Atlanta region, including in the foster home
- 4Upload and manage case documentation in GA-SHINES GA-SCORE and Extended Reach within policy timeframes
- 5Keep families informed of case plans permanency plans court hearings and trainings
- 6Conduct actual placements of children into foster homes within the service region including rotating on-call nights and weekends
- 7Travel statewide focusing on Northeast Atlanta for meetings court hearings and visits with families
- 8Attend required meetings trainings and provide ongoing communication with supervisors directors and state partners
- 9Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
- 10Maintain confidentiality demonstrate strong time management and professional communication
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Social Work psychology or behavioral sciences
- 22-4 years of experience in a child welfare setting
- 3Ability to manage multiple tasks and complex problems simultaneously
- 4Full-time hours with presence in the Atlanta office when not in field work
- 5Reliable service to foster families in Northeast Greater Atlanta and willingness to travel
- 6Willingness to work nights and weekends
- 7Excellent planning time management and interpersonal communication skills
- 8Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- 9Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- 10Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Social Work and familiarity with GA SHINES GA SCORE and Extended Reach database systems
