Campus Staff Minister, Columbia University
Overview
You will lead InterVarsity's graduate and faculty ministry at Columbia University in New York, building witnessing communities across the campus. You will disciple students and faculty, develop leaders, and advance the Gospel through prayer, Scripture, and outreach. Partnering with a network of staff, you will mobilize diverse groups into missional communities. Directing a team of volunteers, you will see campus renewal and world changers developed. This role requires raising financial support to fund your ministry.
What You'll Do10
- 1Pursue a vibrant relationship with the triune God through Scripture, prayer, and worship, and grow in self-leadership.
- 2Create a culture of humble dependence and bold expectation, modeling InterVarsity's vision and Core Values.
- 3Lead students and faculty through Scripture, prayer, and discipleship to align ministry activities with the vision.
- 4Set annual goals for qualitative and quantitative growth, including conversions and leadership development.
- 5Build and develop leadership teams that demonstrate spiritual vitality, relational health, and mission alignment.
- 6Develop and execute plans to achieve annual goals, evaluating and modifying as needed.
- 7Equip students and faculty to engage their relational networks with the gospel and start new missional communities.
- 8Supervise ministry interns as delegated and intentionally develop diverse groups of students and faculty.
- 9Partner with supervisors and national leaders, contribute to team meetings, and comply with policies.
- 10Develop a team of partners who resource the ministry financially and in prayer, and raise 100% of your budget.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree required for four-year campus ministry.
- 2Strong interpersonal skills to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty.
- 3Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 4Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- 5Familiarity with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software.
- 6Annually affirm InterVarsity's Statement of Agreement and Code of Conduct.
- 7Willingness to travel for conferences and training.
- 8Ability to raise funds for personal salary.
