Overview

You will train as a Ministry Resident to prepare for full-time Campus Minister responsibilities at InterVarsity in the Northwest Region. You will own a ministry assignment and receive intensive mentorship while serving students and faculty on a university campus. Your work includes spiritual leadership, pastoral care, administration, and fundraising. You will join a supportive ministry team committed to advancing witnessing communities that are bolder, broader, and more ethnically diverse. This one- or two-year position offers hands-on experience and a clear path toward becoming a Campus Staff Minister.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Lead a ministry team in casting spiritual vision and executing plans for student transformation.
  • 2Teach students to love, study, and apply Scripture to their lives through small groups and one-on-one discipleship.
  • 3Develop student leadership teams that model and promote ethnic reconciliation and unity.
  • 4Guide chapter strategic planning to advance the campus mission of witnessing communities.
  • 5Provide pastoral care to students and faculty, guiding them toward prayer and spiritual growth.
  • 6Recruit and train students for conference leadership and outreach projects.
  • 7Execute administrative tasks, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with InterVarsity policies.
  • 8Build a donor team through annual fundraising plans and maintain regular communication with ministry partners.

Requirements8

  • 1Annually affirm InterVarsity's Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement) and Code of Conduct.
  • 2Currently enrolled student with prior leadership experience in an InterVarsity Chapter, or prior campus ministry experience.
  • 3Third- or fourth-year undergraduate standing with approval from an Area Director.
  • 4Willing to receive training to become a Campus Staff Minister.
  • 5Demonstrated ability to teach spiritual and biblical principles and to disciple others.
  • 6Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 7Proven problem-solving skills.
  • 8Capacity to contribute to open and supportive team relationships.
