Business Intelligence & Data Analyst, Power BI & SQL
Overview
Own the design and delivery of dashboards and automated reports across a 13,000+ unit affordable housing portfolio. Use Power BI, SQL, and AI tools to turn fragmented financial and operational data into decisions senior leaders act on. You will report to the Director of FP&A and partner with finance, property management, and IT teams to standardize metrics, reconcile data to Yardi, and build governed datasets. This role stands apart because you will pilot AI use cases for reporting and workflow efficiency, directly shaping how the company scales its analytics.
What You'll Do9
- 1Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that track portfolio performance and financial health.
- 2Automate recurring reporting by converting manual Excel and legacy processes into Power Query and DAX workflows.
- 3Partner with stakeholders to define metrics and translate business questions into analytical solutions.
- 4Test and implement AI use cases (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) for data review, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
- 5Write SQL queries to extract, join, and validate data from multiple sources including Yardi and the general ledger.
- 6Audit Power BI, Excel, and financial models for formula accuracy, data integrity, and scalability.
- 7Support long-range planning by aggregating property budgets and maintaining model schedules.
- 8Reconcile datasets to Yardi and other sources, resolving inconsistencies with internal teams.
- 9Document data mappings, source inventories, and metric definitions to strengthen data governance.
Requirements9
- 12-5 years in business intelligence, FP&A, data analytics, or accounting analytics.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Math, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3Power BI experience with working DAX and relational data-modeling skills.
- 4SQL skills: query, join, filter, transform, validate datasets.
- 5Power Query experience combining data from multiple sources.
- 6Strong Excel skills: formulas, PivotTables, reconciliation, model development.
- 7Practical experience with AI tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude for analysis or automation.
- 8Ability to reconcile data to Yardi Voyager or similar property management systems.
- 9Preferred: Azure tools, Python, Power Automate, or API familiarity.
