Power BI Developer, Data Analytics & Visualization
Overview
You will own the design and delivery of enterprise-level BI solutions for a Houston-based team, turning raw data into actionable insights with Power BI. You will work alongside data engineers and business stakeholders, building semantic models and interactive dashboards that drive decisions. This contract role puts your DAX and Power Query skills at the center of the stack.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI Desktop, delivering real-time insights to business users.
- 2Develop robust data models using DAX formulas and Power Query to transform and shape data from multiple sources.
- 3Design and optimize SQL queries to pull and aggregate data from SQL Server and data warehouses.
- 4Integrate data from Excel, SharePoint, and REST APIs into cohesive BI solutions.
- 5Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and visualizations.
- 6Troubleshoot and debug existing reports and data models to ensure accuracy and performance.
- 7Document data flows and modeling decisions to support maintainability and onboarding.
- 8Drive adoption of Power BI features like row-level security and scheduled refreshes to enhance governance.
Requirements7
- 15+ years delivering BI solutions with Power BI and DAX.
- 2Advanced proficiency in Power Query for data transformation and automation.
- 33+ years writing complex SQL queries against SQL Server or other relational databases.
- 4Hands-on experience with data modeling and star schema design in Power BI.
- 5Proven ability to integrate data from Excel, SharePoint, and REST APIs.
- 6Strong understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- 7Onsite presence required in Houston, TX.
