Building Automation Systems Specialist Lead - Siemens SF
Overview
You will lead the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation systems for Siemens' Fremont, CA branch, serving the greater San Francisco area. You will own the technical quality of complex Direct Digital Control (DDC) projects from initial verification to final customer acceptance. Collaborating with project managers and trade contractors, you will ensure systems meet their sequences of operations and performance standards. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with mentorship, making you the primary technical resource for the team and the customer.
What You'll Do8
- 1Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites, ensuring timelines are met and documenting all commissioning details.
- 2Use BACnet, LON, and Modbus to integrate low-voltage building sub-systems into the main control system.
- 3Back up data from data servers and create automated backup procedures, troubleshooting any inconsistencies in system functions.
- 4Configure PC workstations and user interfaces, and confirm network performance meets specifications.
- 5Run routine reports to review system operation and perform final inspection, testing, and customer acceptance.
- 6Train customers on system operations and submit comprehensive written reports of system status.
- 7Coordinate with trade contractors on startup services, plan work with the team leader, and support the project manager in site meetings.
- 8Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies, and work overtime when needed to meet project commitments.
Requirements10
- 13+ years of experience with electro-mechanical systems and user PC/software skills.
- 23+ years of experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
- 3Proven experience writing computer programs and software applications related to the HVAC industry.
- 4Knowledge of multiple electronic or digital control systems, with the ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages.
- 5Experience with programming, job start-up, checkout, and troubleshooting complex projects.
- 6Ability to read and interpret design and construction documents.
- 7Willingness to work in varied conditions, including ladders, scaffolds, and high lift equipment, and in confined spaces.
- 8Physical capability to use hand tools, laptops, email, smartphone, and tablet, and to carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
- 9Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- 10Valid driver's license with limited violations and eligibility for Siemens' fleet vehicle program.
