Behavioral Respite Caregiver, ABA & Developmental Disabilities
Overview
You will deliver in-home and community-based respite care for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring safety and engagement while giving families temporary relief. You will implement behavioral strategies under a BCBA and support daily living activities. This part-time role in Torrance, CA offers $21-$24/hour, weekly pay, and paid drive time. You will join a supportive team focused on clinician growth and client outcomes with flexible scheduling.
What You'll Do7
- 1Supervise and engage clients in safe, structured activities aligned with their IPP and behavioral respite care plan.
- 2Implement behavioral strategies and interventions as directed by the supervising BCBA.
- 3Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, feeding, mobility, and recreation.
- 4Collect and document data on client behaviors, participation, and incidents during sessions.
- 5Communicate progress and concerns to supervisors, caregivers, and team members effectively.
- 6Follow behavior safety plans and crisis prevention strategies, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and Title 17 regulations.
- 7Complete ongoing training, including First Aid/CPR, crisis management, and behavioral fundamentals.
Requirements10
- 16+ months experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in human, social, or educational services preferred.
- 3Completion of Inspira Health's Behavioral Respite Training Program (30 hours minimum).
- 4Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- 5TB clearance and physical exam before start date.
- 6Live Scan fingerprint clearance (DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index).
- 7Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation with proof of insurance.
- 8Ability to pass a level two background check and provide verifiable work references.
- 9Experience with challenging behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, or elopement preferred.
- 10Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift 20-50 lbs.
