Direct Support Professional (Behavior Technician Experience)

What You'll Do9
- 1Provide consistent person-centered supervision within homes and communities to ensure resident well-being
- 2Offer occasional hands-on assistance with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
- 3Implement Behavior Support Plans to prevent escalations and de-escalate behavioral challenges
- 4Apply crisis prevention techniques like Safety-Care or CPI during acute situations
- 5Maintain accurate documentation and daily logs per regulatory standards
- 6Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized service plans
- 7Transport residents to medical appointments and support community engagement activities
- 8Monitor health and environmental changes and report findings promptly
- 9Participate in family meetings and adhere to ethical professional standards
Requirements7
- 12–3 years direct support experience with developmental disabilities and complex behavioral needs
- 2Proficiency in Individual Program Plans and Behavior Support Plans
- 3Prior experience with Safety Care or crisis intervention certifications
- 4Strong communication and documentation skills
- 5Ability to lift 25–40 pounds and travel independently within the community
- 6Valid CPR/First Aid certification and current California driver’s license
- 7Background check clearance and knowledge of transportation requirements
