Behavioral Health Tech Supervisor, Residential Treatment
Overview
You will lead a team of Behavioral Health Technicians at Hillside Wellness Center, a residential treatment facility in Philadelphia. You own shift operations, client safety, and staff performance at a 20+ bed facility. You coordinate daily assignments, ensure compliance with HIPAA and state regulations, and serve as a bridge between clinical teams and direct care staff. This role is a fit for a seasoned BHT ready to step into leadership.
What You'll Do10
- 1Supervise and coach a team of BHTs during assigned shifts, setting clear expectations and holding staff accountable.
- 2Lead shift huddles and coordinate client movement to groups, meals, and appointments using electronic scheduling tools.
- 3De-escalate behavioral crises using CPI techniques and document incidents per facility policy.
- 4Oversee accurate completion of observation records and safety checks, reviewing logs in EHR.
- 5Onboard new hires through structured orientation, modeling professional conduct and trauma-informed care.
- 6Communicate client status changes to nursing and clinical staff in real time.
- 7Enforce facility policies on boundaries, confidentiality, and conduct, addressing violations immediately.
- 8Participate in emergency drills, ensuring team readiness for code red and evacuation procedures.
- 9Audit shift documentation for compliance with licensing standards and accreditation bodies.
- 10Facilitate interdepartmental communication to maintain a structured therapeutic milieu.
Requirements9
- 11+ year experience in behavioral health or residential treatment setting.
- 2High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's in related field preferred.
- 3Proven ability to lead and mentor staff, with prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- 4Certification in First Aid and CPR required (or obtain within 30 days).
- 5Strong command of verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies.
- 6Working knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and documentation standards.
- 7Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
- 8Valid driver's license may be required for transporting clients.
- 9Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems.
