Battery Assembly Technician Job in Fremont, CA | Amprius
Overview
You will assemble silicon anode Li-Ion cells on Amprius' MWh-scale production line and test them to spec. Work with micrometers, digital multimeters, and assembly equipment in a team-based environment. This is a 6-month temp role on the Alternate Workweek Schedule (AWS). The role stands out for its hands-on exposure to next-gen battery tech and a steady 3-4 day workweek.
What You'll Do8
- 1Assemble battery components to given specifications using hand tools and assembly equipment.
- 2Test completed batteries with digital multimeters and micrometers to confirm quality and performance.
- 3Inspect materials for defects using calipers, mass scales, and other precision tools.
- 4Record production data and flag issues to the supervisor in real time.
- 5Collaborate with teammates to hit daily targets on the assembly line.
- 6Operate and maintain assembly line equipment, including die punches and rotary tools.
- 7Troubleshoot minor technical issues with equipment during production runs.
- 8Keep the work area clean and organized per safety protocols, using PPE like lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses.
Requirements9
- 11+ year as an equipment operator or technician in semiconductor, solar, battery, electronics, or automotive.
- 2Experience with (or willingness to learn) hand tools such as die punches, rotary tools, and cutters.
- 3Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination for precise assembly tasks.
- 4Basic understanding of assembly line processes and quality standards.
- 5Basic computer skills for accurate data entry of production metrics.
- 6High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 7Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds and work in varied physical positions.
- 8Willingness to follow safety protocols and use PPE including respirators and safety shoes.
- 9Commitment to a 12-hour shift schedule (AWS) with 3-4 days per week, starting at 5:30 am.
