
Automotive Technician, Transmissions & Diagnostics
Overview
You will diagnose and repair complex automotive systems at AAMCO Transmissions, the world leader in transmissions. You will own transmission R&R, general repairs, and electrical diagnostics on a high volume of vehicles. Your work spans driveline components, ABS, and engine control modules. You will access continuous training and advanced shop equipment to grow your technical expertise.
What You'll Do6
- 1Remove and reinstall major driveline components, including transmissions, differentials, and transfer cases.
- 2Inspect, diagnose, and repair automotive systems using OBD-II scanners and multimeters.
- 3Diagnose electrical faults in harnesses, sensors, and ECUs with wiring diagrams.
- 4Perform general automotive repairs, including brakes, suspension, and engine work.
- 5Document all work orders and communicate findings to service advisors.
- 6Maintain a safe, organized workspace and follow shop safety protocols.
Requirements6
- 13+ years performing transmission R&R on domestic and import vehicles.
- 25+ years diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- 3Hold a valid driver's license.
- 4Own professional-grade tools capable of engine and transmission work.
- 5Read and interpret wiring diagrams and service manuals.
- 6Operate shop equipment safely, including lifts, scan tools, and A/C machines.
