Automotive Senior Technician, Diagnostics & Electrical Systems
Overview
You will own complex diagnostics and repairs for drivability and electrical systems across a high-volume service center, directly driving customer satisfaction and team performance. You'll work within a 22,000-person company operating 2,200+ stores, reporting to a service manager and collaborating with a crew of 10-15 technicians. What You'll Do7
- 1Diagnose and repair brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and advanced fuel ignition, and electrical systems to specification.
- 2Explain technical diagnoses and repair needs to customers and non-mechanical staff in clear terms.
- 3Stay current with evolving automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
- 4Mentor and train junior technicians on advanced technical procedures.
- 5Obtain A.S.E. certifications in at least three of A1-A8 within two years, with company-paid tests and bonuses.
- 6Perform steering, suspension, alignment, and air conditioning repairs.
- 7Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues in computer systems.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of automotive repair experience or completion of a vocational-technical school program.
- 2A.S.E. certification in at least one of A1-A8 (L1 acceptable) or demonstrated skills via third-party assessments.
- 3Valid driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
- 4Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where required.
- 5Skilled in brakes, hydraulics, steering, suspension, and alignments.
- 6Proficient in general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
- 7Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
- 8Reading, writing, and math skills.
