Automated Packaging Equipment Operator, 3rd Shift
Overview
You will own the safe and efficient operation of automated bagging equipment on the 3rd shift at Morton Salt in Philadelphia. You will manage start-up, shutdown, and real-time adjustments to keep production lines running. You will work with a close-knit team of operators and supervisors, reporting directly to the shift lead. What You'll Do9
- 1Operate automated packaging equipment, including baggers and palletizers, to meet production targets.
- 2Start up, run, and shut down equipment per standard procedures, adjusting settings for product changeovers.
- 3Inspect equipment for wear and damage, perform minor repairs, and report malfunctions to the supervisor.
- 4Complete accurate operating records and mobile equipment inspection checklists each shift.
- 5Enforce LOTO procedures and follow all OSHA regulations to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
- 6Maintain GMP standards by cleaning work areas and documenting sanitation activities.
- 7Communicate with line personnel about quality issues, material shortages, or equipment faults.
- 8Handle bag damage and spillage immediately to prevent waste and downtime.
- 9Lift up to 50 lb and move around the facility, including climbing and reaching during equipment checks.
Requirements8
- 11-5 years of experience in a production packaging environment, ideally with automated equipment.
- 2High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 3Demonstrated ability to operate machinery safely and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
- 4Familiarity with GMP and HACCP standards in a food-grade facility.
- 5Strong verbal communication skills for coordinating with line operators and supervisors.
- 6Ability to work the 3rd shift, including weekends and overtime as needed.
- 7Physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods and lift 50 lb regularly.
- 8Basic math and reading skills to complete logs and interpret equipment manuals.
