Overview

You will own a portfolio of 8-15 stores in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, driving sales, profitability, and operational excellence. You will lead a team of Store Managers and retail staff, fostering a culture grounded in Chuck & Don's and Kriser's brand values. With a hands-on approach, you will coach leaders, analyze performance metrics, and ensure exceptional customer experiences. What You'll Do10

  • 1Drive district sales and profitability goals by coaching Store Managers on consumer education, payroll management, and inventory oversight.
  • 2Conduct regular store visits to evaluate sales performance, merchandising, and customer service, then implement improvement plans.
  • 3Partner with the Sr. District Manager and store support teams to share insights on products, initiatives, and field execution.
  • 4Analyze financial reports and operational metrics to identify growth opportunities and manage controllable expenses.
  • 5Champion a personalized customer engagement model across all stores, teaching leaders the Contact, Curiosity, and Connect steps.
  • 6Ensure consistent execution of visual merchandising and brand standards across the district.
  • 7Collaborate with Store Operations, Buying, and Supply Chain to maintain inventory levels and meet operational standards.
  • 8Recruit, interview, and select Store Managers and team members in partnership with HR.
  • 9Coach and mentor store leaders to strengthen leadership capability, retention, and internal talent pipelines.
  • 10Foster a culture of recognition, collaboration, and accountability, with regular in-store visits to celebrate wins and share best practices.

Requirements10

  • 13+ years in multi-unit and store management within the retail industry.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3Knowledge of the natural pet retail industry preferred.
  • 4Proven ability to identify, motivate, and retain top talent.
  • 5Strong business ownership mindset with initiative and leadership by example.
  • 6Ability to achieve high performance through effective team leadership and delegation.
  • 7Strong analytical skills to translate insights into action plans and interpret financial reports.
  • 8Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • 9Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • 10Comfortable working around pet hair and dander, and with small and large dogs.
