Associate Director Strategy and Operations Chief of Staff
Overview
You will build the structure, strategy, and operating discipline for the new Practice Economics organization at Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company. You will report to the Vice President of Practice Economics and partner with cross-functional teams to translate priorities into measurable customer and business impact. This role sits in Irvine, CA and requires comfort with ambiguity and matrixed influence. You will own the operating cadence, governance, and executive communications that drive disciplined execution. This is a rare opportunity to shape a new function from the ground up with 10+ years of strategy and operations experience.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build the annual and long-range strategic plans, including goals, roadmaps, owners, and measurable outcomes for Practice Economics.
- 2Design the operating cadence for leadership meetings, business reviews, and prioritization forums, with tracking and accountability routines.
- 3Lead cross-functional initiatives from strategy to execution, coordinating workstreams across Practice Consulting, National Accounts, Strategic Planning, Analytics, Finance, and Field teams.
- 4Shape the operating model for Practice Economics, defining ownership, decision rights, and repeatable processes to shift from reactive to proactive work.
- 5Produce executive-ready communications, including briefing documents, strategic narratives, and decision points for senior leadership and board reviews.
- 6Develop dashboards and scorecards in PowerPoint and Excel that clarify performance, risks, and execution status for key priorities.
- 7Align stakeholders with different priorities by anticipating risks, removing barriers, and escalating issues to keep initiatives connected to strategy.
- 8Drive the quarterly business review process, synthesizing insights from Analytics and Finance into actionable recommendations.
Requirements10
- 110+ years in strategy, business operations, commercial operations, management consulting, or project leadership.
- 2Bachelor's degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 3Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment.
- 4Healthcare, aesthetics, pharmaceutical, or medical device experience preferred.
- 5Proven ability to support senior leadership and build new functions or transformation capabilities.
- 6Strong business acumen and analytical capability, with executive communication skills.
- 7Experience with operating rhythms, governance processes, and performance management tools.
- 8Expertise in PowerPoint and executive-level storytelling.
- 9Ability to manage ambiguity and convert strategic ideas into disciplined execution.
- 10Travel up to 20% of the time.
