What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and supervise safe daily routines including feeding, naps, and hygiene while supporting developmentally appropriate play

  • 3Maintain a clean, organized, and child-safe environment at all times
  • 4Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about progress, daily updates, and notable milestones
  • 5Monitor children's behavior and emotional well-being and report concerns to supervisors
  • 6Follow childcare policies, safety protocols, and licensing regulations
  • 7Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and coverage
  • 8Document and share observations to tailor activities to each child's needs
  • 9Support training and development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills
  • 10Maintain positive relationships with families to foster trust and comfort in the care setting

Requirements8

  • 1Previous experience in childcare, early childhood education, or a related caregiving role preferred
  • 2Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
  • 3Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and families
  • 4CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • 5Ability to pass a background check in compliance with DC childcare regulations
  • 6Patient, reliable, and adaptable with a team-oriented attitude
  • 7High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in child development is a plus
  • 8CDA (child development associate) OR associate degree in Education or BA in Education is preferred
