Associate Attorney, Construction Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Overview
You own a caseload of litigation and non-litigation matters in construction law, contracts, and dispute resolution at a firm that leads the field. You will manage cases from intake through resolution, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and appearing in court. You work with cross-functional teams across public entities, private owners, and construction companies, advising on California law and business matters. This hybrid role, based in Pasadena, offers direct client contact and business development opportunities with an entrepreneurial drive.
What You'll Do7
- 1Manage a caseload of construction litigation and non-litigation matters, driving each case from initial assessment to resolution.
- 2Conduct legal research on California construction law, contracts, and dispute resolution, applying findings to case strategy.
- 3Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements with precision.
- 4Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials, advocating for client interests.
- 5Advise clients on business and commercial law, insurance, labor and employment, and real estate issues.
- 6Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop case strategy and share expertise across practice areas.
- 7Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities and participating in client meetings.
Requirements6
- 1Juris Doctor degree and active California bar membership.
- 23+ years of relevant experience in construction litigation and non-litigation matters.
- 3Analytical, research, and writing skills that produce clear, persuasive legal arguments.
- 4Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- 5Skill in communicating complex legal ideas to both legal and non-legal audiences.
- 6Strong interpersonal skills, high organization, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
Salary Insight
$120 - $140k per year
