Assistant Property Manager, Affordable Housing & Property Operations
Overview
Lead resident services and property operations for a 204 unit affordable housing property under the Property Manager. You will support leasing, rent collection, file management, inspections, and maintenance work orders at a community in Glen Burnie MD. Work within a collaborative, high tech environment and contribute to a growing portfolio of affordable and conventional properties. This role blends administrative rigor with resident interaction to maintain property standards and tenant satisfaction.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain resident and office files to support compliance and operations
- 2Assist in showing units and screening applicants to support leasing goals
- 3Assist in certifying residents' income for eligibility and affordability programs
- 4Assist in the collection of rent and preparation of receipts to ensure on time payments
- 5Prepare late notices and notices to pay rent to manage delinquencies
- 6Work with the manager on legal proceedings related to tenant issues
- 7Maintain rental market records for benchmarking against comparable units
- 8Maintain tickler files and assist with annual inspections and unit inspections
- 9Support the work order system and purchase order procedures for maintenance
- 10Order office supplies within budget and assist with inventories for project needs
Requirements10
- 1Minimum one year of property management experience
- 2High school education or equivalent
- 3Ability to perform duties of the Property Manager in their absence
- 4Strong problem solving and resident/client issue resolution skills
- 5Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- 6Experience with RealPage OneSite or similar property management software
- 7Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- 8Ability to communicate professionally with residents and partners
- 9Desire to work in a high tech environment with continuous learning
- 10Ability to obtain tenant certifications and adapt to policy requirements
