Assistant Project Manager, Electrical Construction & Field Operations
Overview
Electrical construction leadership experience at scale supporting Project Managers and Field Operations on commercial builds. You will collaborate with GCs, engineers, architects, vendors, and internal teams to keep multiple projects organized from planning through closeout. Expect hands-on coordination, documentation, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost tracking. This role blends office work with occasional site visits and requires proactive follow-up and strong communication.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence to support on‑time execution
- 2Coordinate with GCs, field teams, vendors, engineers, and internal departments to maintain current project information
- 3Track material approvals, purchase orders, long‑lead items, fabrication, and deliveries to avoid delays
- 4Assist with reviewing drawings, specifications, addenda, bulletins, and revisions to prevent scope gaps
- 5Prepare meeting notes, project updates, action lists, and follow‑up correspondence to drive alignment
- 6Support manpower planning, inspections, shutdowns, deliveries, and field coordination to ensure seamless operations
- 7Assist with project billing, schedules of values, change order billing, and cost tracking for accurate finances
- 8Track punch‑list items, warranties, as‑builts, O&M manuals, testing reports, and final closeout requirements
- 9Ensure teams have current drawings, approved submittals, and updated project information
- 10Attend occasional job‑site meetings or project visits to verify on‑site progress and compliance
Requirements10
- 1Prior construction experience required
- 2Electrical construction experience strongly preferred
- 3Understanding of RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, project logs, and closeout
- 4Ability to read construction drawings and specifications at a basic to intermediate level
- 5Understanding of construction schedules, deadlines, and field coordination
- 6Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 7Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and priorities
- 8Proactive and able to follow up independently without constant reminders
- 9Ability to recognize potential cost, schedule, scope, or field impacts
- 10Strong computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, Word, Bluebeam/Adobe PDF, and project management systems
