Assistant Project Manager Construction
Overview
The Assistant Project Manager leads complex construction projects delivering results at scale. This role coordinates schedules documentation finances and field operations. The ideal candidate drives success for owners vendors and subcontractors.
What You'll Do14
- 1Collaborate with Project Executives and Superintendents to develop and monitor master project schedules and staffing plans
- 2Track and manage Project Success Plans to align outcomes with goals and performance metrics
- 3Oversee documentation including contracts insurance submittals RFIs schedules change orders meeting minutes and subcontractor records
- 4Manage financials by preparing billing monitoring cash flow tracking profitability generating reports and overseeing close-out payments
- 5Prepare monthly Job Status Reports communicating progress risks and financial performance to stakeholders
- 6Supervise Project Engineers and Superintendents ensuring deliverables and professional development
- 7Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
- 8Foster positive environment through clear communication professional behavior and collaboration
- 9Develop quality control programs meeting contract specifications and industry standards
- 10Promote safety via audits monitoring compliance and enforcing protocols
- 11Coordinate with Preconstruction to evaluate opportunities and provide insights
- 12Support field operations on MEP glazing carpentry and other trade projects
- 13Assist with scheduling sequencing monitoring adjustments and change order management
- 14Utilize software like Procore Bluebeam P6 Viewpoint e-Builder and Microsoft Office for reporting and collaboration
Requirements11
- 15+ years construction project management experience
- 2Proficiency in Procore Bluebeam P6 Viewpoint e-Builder and Microsoft Office
- 3Background in federal construction and general contracting
- 4Experience with MEP systems glazing carpentry and residential projects
- 5Familiarity with underground tunnel projects and construction accounting tools
- 6Ability to interpret contracts specifications and building documents
- 7Leadership experience conducting performance reviews and mentoring staff
- 8Interest in long-term career growth supporting multi-year programs
- 9Work environment field office near major airport with occasional remote access
- 10Eligibility for benefits varies based on classification and tenure
