Assistant Manager, retail & customer service (POS, inventory)
Overview
The Assistant Manager will support the Store Manager to drive sales, develop talent, and execute company initiatives at scale within a specialty retail environment. This role represents the brand, delivers exceptional customer service, and communicates consistently with the team. You will work onsite in Phoenix and collaborate with store leadership and staff to maintain standards and operational excellence.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is away to ensure operations continue smoothly
- 2Coach Sales Associates on the floor to maintain brand standards and a collaborative team culture
- 3Manage rest and meal breaks and ensure shift coverage across zones
- 4Provide timely feedback and motivate the team to build brand loyalty
- 5Direct floor sets, signage, and merchandising to align with company guidelines
- 6Ensure adherence to loss prevention procedures and secure store assets
- 7Assist with inventory processes and shelf presentation to support sales goals
- 8Maintain professional interactions with customers and colleagues and resolve issues promptly
- 9Drive performance by sharing best practices for sales, merchandising, and inventory processes
- 10Represent the company positively in all interactions and foster open communication
Requirements10
- 1At least 2 years of manager experience in a specialty retail store
- 2Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- 3Ability to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and two store closings per week
- 4Retail POS system and inventory scanner experience
- 5Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including loading/unloading
- 6High school diploma or GED
- 7Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 8Ability to interpret moderately complex financial reports
- 9Ability to problem solve in challenging situations
- 10Ability to adapt to additional software programs
