Overview
You will own daily operations at a premier DC upscale casual restaurant, partnering with the General Manager to drive service, sales, and team performance. You lead a staff of 20-40 across front and back of house, with full accountability for shift execution, guest satisfaction, and financial targets. What You'll Do10
- 1Partner with the General Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing shifts, and direct the flow of service to meet guest demand.
- 2Lead, coach, and support front of house and back of house teams during peak hours, setting the pace and standard for hospitality and execution.
- 3Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and urgency, turning issues into loyalty-building moments.
- 4Recruit, train, and mentor team members and shift leads, building a pipeline of future managers and ensuring consistent service standards.
- 5Create weekly schedules using HotSchedules, balancing labor targets with coverage needs, and adjust in real time.
- 6Monitor food and beverage quality, service speed, and cleanliness to maintain brand standards and compliance with health and safety policies.
- 7Own inventory management and vendor relationships, controlling food and beverage cost through accurate ordering and waste reduction.
- 8Drive sales through table turns, upselling, and local marketing initiatives, and manage labor to hit P&L targets.
- 9Use Toast to monitor sales, reconcile cash, and analyze shift performance metrics.
- 10Collaborate with the General Manager on monthly P&L reviews, identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
Requirements8
- 12+ years as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar leadership role in a full-service restaurant.
- 2Experience in an upscale, polished casual, or fine dining environment preferred.
- 3Strong leadership and team development skills, with a track record of coaching hourly staff.
- 4Proven ability to deliver outstanding guest service in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- 5Solid food and beverage knowledge, including wine, craft cocktails, and menu pairings.
- 6Hands-on experience with Toast, Paycom, HotSchedules, TripleSeat, RESY, or OpenTable.
- 7Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for reporting and communication.
- 8Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including labor management, food cost, and P&L performance.
