Assistant Controller, Club Finance & Operations
Overview
Accounting leadership role at a premier private club overseeing A/R, A/P, Payroll, and purchasing with direct reporting to the CFO. You will supervise daily accounting processes, assist with financial statements and management reporting, and ensure internal controls across departments at a multi-sport venue. This role collaborates with operations, IT, and vendor management to maintain accurate records and compliant reporting. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and review monthly financial statements, journal entries, and variance analysis to ensure accuracy
- 2Oversee internal controls to safeguard assets and reduce theft and fraud
- 3Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue goal monitoring with regular business volume projections
- 4Provide coverage for accounting and purchasing staff during absences
- 5Maintain fixed asset schedules and supporting documentation
- 6Perform bank reconciliations and account analyses on a monthly cadence
- 7Prepare tax returns and informational filings (W-2, 1099s) and assist with payroll taxes
- 8Develop and monitor accounting procedures, policies, and controls
- 9Assist with procurement processes and inventory receiving procedures
- 10Prepare audit schedules and support for annual and interim audits
Requirements9
- 1Self starter with ability to work with limited supervision
- 2Analytical thinker with a focus on process improvement
- 3Fluent in English for financial reporting and stakeholder communications
- 4Strong mathematical skills for fractions, percentages, ratios and projections
- 5Accounting degree or extensive club related experience
- 6Keyboard data entry and 10 key by touch
- 7Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- 8Knowledge of NorthStar, Jonas Software and Sage Fixed Assets is helpful
- 9Ability to bend, stand, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds
