Senior Staff Accountant, GL & Fixed Assets
Overview
Own the full accounting cycle for HOIST Fitness, reconciling GL accounts, managing fixed assets, and ensuring sales tax compliance across multiple states. You'll report to the Accounting Manager and work with a dedicated finance team in our San Diego headquarters. This role offers direct exposure to month-end close, audits, and process improvement. You'll bring 2-5 years of accounting experience and a detail-oriented mindset to a company that's redefining fitness equipment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Reconcile cash accounts and GL balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies within the first 30 days.
- 2Manage credit card accounts, collect receipts, and record monthly expenses to ensure accurate financials.
- 3Run depreciation for fixed assets and amortization for intangibles, updating schedules quarterly.
- 4Prepare and file city business licenses and sales tax registrations, renewals, and related correspondence.
- 5Accrue monthly expenses for missing invoices to match expenses with revenue during month-end close.
- 6Maintain SOPs for all accounting duties and document process improvements.
- 7Review and monitor AR aging and credit applications, communicating with customers via phone and email.
- 8Support audits by providing requested information and handling internal department requests.
- 9Analyze financial data and complete projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Requirements8
- 12-5 years of accounting experience with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 2Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- 3Knowledge of accounting concepts and practices within GAAP.
- 4Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.
- 5Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- 6Ability to work under pressure and maintain a sense of urgency.
- 7Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- 8Willingness to help with ad-hoc tasks and support team goals.
